Charitable Giving

At the YMCA of Southern Arizona we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to be a part of the YMCA. We pledge that, based on available resources, no one will be turned away due to an inability to pay a fee.

If you are looking for a way to give back to your community, the YMCA is a great choice. We are a strong, fiscally responsible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our commitment to volunteerism (we have over 1,200 volunteers) helps keep overhead costs low, so that more of your gift goes to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. The membership fees we have cover the cost of maintaining and operating our facilities, so donations can be spent entirely on scholarships and the development of new programs. You also have a choice as to where you'd like your contributions to be used, whether that be at a specific branch or for a particular program that you are passionate about.

Here are some ways that your tax deductible gift could be used:

• $50 provides swimming lessons a child.
• $100 sends one child to a week of summer day camp.
• $150 lets a child participate in a season of basketball.
• $220 covers one month of after school child care.
• $360 sends a child to overnight summer camp for a week.
• $500 can purchase art supplies for an entire after school care site.
• $1,000 can underwrite a division of youth sports.
• $1,200 can provide a child with after school care for 6 months.
